Junior’s Fashion Week SS’19 : Runway Showcase In Mumbai

I recently attended the runway event of Junior’s Fashion Week SS’19 in Mumbai that showcased the trendiest collection by globally renowned brands. This is the second time I attended the event and like last time, I was again awe-ed by the grace and élan with which young kids presented themselves on the stage.

Junior’s Fashion Week is a children’s fashion runway showcase event that is held in multiple metro cities every year. It is an edutainment platform for kids between 4-14 years of age. The event is meant to provide little kids an overall grooming experience along with an opportunity to walk the ramp and discover the best version of themselves. It also involves workshop training for kids (grooming workshop, social etiquettes and photography session) helmed by industry experts and celebrities, along with the main fashion show that showcases the seasonal collections of various brands.

This year a plethora of international kid’s wear brands were showcased at Junior’s Fashion Week SS’19 – U. S. Polo Assn. Kids, The Children’s Place, Flying Machine, Boyzone, Hugo BOSS, DKNY, Little Marc Jacobs, Timberland and Billieblush.

The comfortable collection of U. S. Polo Assn. Kids with its signature stars and stripes print was super impressive. Their collection included highly kinetic shirts and modish party dresses, sporty polo t-shirts and classic denims – all formulated considering fashion-forward kids and their ever-changing closet needs.

The Children’s Place presented a fun and trendy collection with playful flip sequins along and a bold color palette. Their range comprised of glitter tops, hair-bands, hats, bags, sunglasses, and footwear for an uber trendy head-to-toe look. As for the boys, woven shirts with conversational graphics, polo tees, and jumper paired with cool coloured chinos, contemporary denims & pull-on joggers in the latest trendsetting colours.

Flying Machine Boys collection threw light on some of the signature designs by Flying Machine combined with cool and contemporary trends in children’s fashion.

Hugo Boss’ range comprised of all things fashionable- from polo shirts, coats, and blazers. They came across as the perfect choice of couture for all occasions.

DKNY presented a diverse collection that drew similarity to the widely accepted aesthetics in New York City, the home city of the founder.

Billieblush catered to the soft fabrics and delicate styles in unicorn or rainbows or pastels that resonated with ongoing trends and comfortable patterns.

Little Marc Jacobs Collection drew inspiration from the urban lifestyles of the concrete jungle. Their every ensemble looked chic and sprightly.

Timberland’s range of apparels portrayed some of the trendiest of street styles in the kids’ fashion industry.

It was an incredible event and seeing young bright kids walking down the ramp with utmost grace and élan was a treat to the eyes. With professional make-up and hair-do the kids seemed elated and super confident on the stage. A show like JFW is not just a display of fashion and style. Many parents also view this event as a confidence-building exercise for kids and an opportunity for a real-stage exposure. It is a platform where each kid gets the chance to showcase his inner talent and shine like a star.
